Oscar and Elizabeth are my 3rd great-grandparents. Oscar Orlando Stoddard was born in New York and moved to Michigan with his parents. His mother died while he was still young. Oscar married Polly Fergusen, whom he later divorced. In the 1850s, Oscar came to Utah where he became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He remarried to Elizabeth Taylor in 1860. Her family joined the Church of Jesus Christ in England and immigrated to Utah. After they were married, they moved to Morgan County, Utah, where Oscar died in 1896. Elizabeth died at her daughter's home in Salt Lake County 17 years later.
The information, pictures, and documents I have on this couple come from two main places; My grandparents, and Richard Tucker. My grandparent's information came down to me through family. I'm not sure where Richard got all of his information, but he has done a lot of research on this family and if you have any questions, I might refer you to him. I also have met many others who are researching this family. Each continually add to our knowledge, and we are grateful for all those past and present who have worked on this family. |
